Phoenix Symbol
The Phoenix Project's icon, the Red Phoenix was a 'personal' choice for me as I recall my Childhood book "The Phoenix and the Carpet" and the wonderful memories it conjured up, then, and now as an adult. This symbol represents, also, how our project, through one to one Mentor/Buddy support aims in a Holistic way; Mind, Body and Spirit to aid men and women with mental health issues through a process of self-development and a personal journey of life.
We hope that this forthcoming weekly one hour support, (carried out in the main by mental health service users themselves), and the self-help groups will empower people, raise self awareness, build confidence and explore who the person would like to become, in relation to the world around them.
In effect 'a phoenix rising up from the ashes'.
If you or someone close to you would like to embark on this 'journey' or would like to help others as a result of their own personal 'journey',
please contact Marian O'Brien (Coordinator)
