Easter New Life Sculpture
Easter New Life Sculpture - Tuesday 3rd April 2007
This being Holy Week Ama, Zena, Jimmy, Jessica made a green New Life Sculpture in the front garden of the church.
The sculpture represents new life through baptism, being “born of water and the Spirit” (John 3:3-5) and is appropriate at Easter because “just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” (Romans 6:3-4)
We have reused everyday materials such as silver paper, plastic bags & plastic drinks bottles to make the sculpture. Once it is dismantled all these will be recycled,
so even the materials will have been given a new life.
The plants have been grown by the congregation over Lent as a reminder to reduce, reuse & recycle. The reused tubs & yoghurt pots will be recycled once the seedlings are big enough to plant out.
