- Personal debt in Britain now amounts to £1.3trillion
- Two-thirds of EU credit card debt is British
- mortgage repossession orders jumped by 66% in 2005
- one in twelve households in Britain don't have access to a bank account
- one in three couples in the UK can't sleep at night for worrying about money
- the poorest UK households spend £25 on food per week
- one in four people in debt are receiving treatment for stress, depression and anxiety from their GP
