Explanation Of Synod And It's Meetings

The Church Of England has a long established history some of it well known some of it not. One of the lesser knowns is how democratic it is. This extends from the "parliament" at the top down to Parish Church Councils at the bottom. Inbetween is a hierachy known as the Synod.

Its smallest unit is based upon a group of parishes known as a Deanery. These Deanery Synods meet quarterly. Our contributions to the Church Of Engand Common Fund, amongst many many other things, pay for our Dean:

I'm still working out who is who as the CofE website is far from clear but one document describes:

Ealing Deanery: Christopher Ramsay (Area Dean), Dr Mark Powell and John Willmington (Sub-Deans, Ealing East), Tricia Hillas and Christopher Ramsay (Sub-Deans, Ealing West), Greville Thomas (Chapter Clerk)
