St James Elders For balance all churches should have a group who specifically agree to understand and spiritually oversee the life of the church and it's leaders. These people are normally known as Elders. They are men and women who have many years of experience in dealing with church life and leadership. They agree to meet regularly and pray for all ongoing matters. This is the principle that Moses set up as commanded by God described throughout the book of Exodus starting at Ch3v16. St Paul very much supported this call for wise people to be appointed in every town of believers (Titus Ch1v5) St James Elders are:
